Yesterday my girls were home from school, the office was closed as COVID cases are starting to rise again in our little pocket of the world, and I had been sitting at the dining room table working for most of the day. McKenzie, my seven-year old, had been begging me all afternoon to take her for a bike ride. So at 3:30, I closed my computer, we grabbed our bikes and headed down to the park.
She hit the swings, the monkey bars and after lots of hand sanitizer we walked over to the grass so that she could practice her one-handed cartwheels. As we walked, her little hand in mine, she looked up at me and said, “I’m grateful to be here.”
“Aww, sweetie, I’m glad we came to the park too,” I replied.
“No, mom,” she said, “I’m really glad to be here on earth. I never really thought about that before.”
Oh fudge. What do you say to that? And how is it that a seven year old can be so mature?
It’s been a hell of a year. We’ve all experienced so much collective loss, but we’re still here. And for that – and so much more, I’m thankful.
I’m thankful to our team, to you our clients, to the frontline workers keeping us safe, and to the inventors and the scientists in our industry who are making such meaningful strides to combat this chaotic virus.
I and the rest of The Matchstick Group team are grateful to have been part of that meaningful impact in our own little way. From COVID-19 antigen and antibody tests, to strapless N95 masks, from infection prevention products to single-sterile surgical packs, from filtration devices to at-home diagnostic kits. Everything that we’re working on with you is having an impact and we have never been more proud to work in the medical device sector.
Thank you for trusting us and for partnering with us all along the way.
With gratitude
Melissa & the rest of the team at TMG
